Shea Homes and Studio Dwell organize Care Day project for Arizona Housing Inc.

Employees, family and friends of Shea Homes and Studio Dwell spent the morning doing demo work and moving furniture at the site of an old motel in central Phoenix as part of the ongoing renovation project with nonprofit partner Arizona Housing Inc. All rooms of the two-story building were gone through, taking down old headboards, removing bedding and re-arranging mattresses to ready the rooms for cleaning, maintenance and the addition of more furniture.

The hotel is being repurposed by Arizona Housing Inc, with the help of HomeAid Phoenix and project builder captain Shea Homes with support from Studio Dwell. The permanent supportive affordable housing will shelter homeless seniors, primarily veterans, helping to get them off the streets and into a safe environment as they work to re-establish their lives.

The project is hoping to wrap up in time for the New Year. Stay tuned for future progress updates.
