House of Refuge – Paint-a-Thon: 120 Home Building Industry Volunteers Make A Big Impact

Armed with the vision to improve the lives of others, 122 volunteers from 20 local home building industry companies rolled up their sleeves to beautify homes for families living in transitional housing at House of Refuge.

Every single person deserves a safe, stable place to sleep at night. For people experiencing homelessness, transitional housing provides a stable home while they gain valuable skills to transition to permanent housing.

The fresh coat of paint provided by volunteers through HomeAid Phoenix’s efforts helps families to more fully connect with their community and their neighbors, while allowing them to feel a strong sense of pride in their home. We think that’s valuable in addition to the protection, the beautification, and the pride of ownership. It touches their souls to know the community at large cares for them” said Kayla Kolar, Executive Director of House of Refuge.

The new paint was graciously donated by Sherwin Williams.

House of Refuge provides safe, stable housing to families that are experiencing homelessness.
